As a photographer and one who is easily amused, I sometimes struggle to keep a camera away from my face. Here is a small photo series and short reflection of my trip to the Pacific North West where I challenged myself to put my camera down and be present while exploring with three, rad gal pals from art school.
We spent 3 weeks in Myanmar, taking 10+ hour bus rides from destination to destination. We walked the street markets in Yangon, explored the ancient ruins in Bagan, and roamed sidestreets in Mandalay and Taunggyi to see life off the tourist track. Myanmar was a much different country than any we had visited in Southeast Asia.
